Identity Document Processing Policy

As part of our recreational vehicle rental activities, Shoebill Campervan may request a copy of a valid identity document (e.g., driver’s license or passport). This verification is essential for the following reasons:

• To confirm the renter’s identity in order to prevent fraud and ensure the security of our services;
• To verify the driver's eligibility to operate a vehicle in Québec, in accordance with the requirements of the Highway Safety Code;
• To meet the requirements of our insurance partners, who require us to retain proof of driver competence in the event of an incident.

We handle these documents with the highest level of confidentiality. All identity documents are:

• Transmitted through secure channels (our platform uses SSL/TLS encryption and is certified under HIPAA, SOC 2 Type II, and ISO 27001 standards);
• Retained only for the duration of your rental;
• Securely deleted at the end of the contract, unless legal or contractual obligations require longer retention.

We never share these documents with third parties, unless required by law or in the context of an insurance claim.
